This Land is Mine (referenced in yesterday’s “This is the Land of Milk & Honey” stack linked below)… Wow, exactly my question. Whose land is it anyway??? And that goes for any place on this planet. . . Creepy, Scary, Sad that we have to take possession, instead of standing in our Presence and living in harmony with nature (I know, too much kumbaya) …, but STOP IT ALREADY…. What’s the outcome? How do we live here as stewards of the planet, and honor the gifts we are given. Jeez….

Nina Paley is genius. You go, girl.
Thanks so much for taking the time and thought to reflect upon these memories and later ponderings, and to articulate them as you've done
I mean no criticism in mentioning that there were Canaanites in the Land of Canaan, and
that Saul and David fought and vanquished the Phiilistines, from whom Palestinians
I would assume, are descended ( and like Jews are a Semitic people who, like Jews, claim descent from Abraham: so, another internecine conflict conducted on some would say land stolen -- a second time ? -- by the one from the other, not the only story in the Torah, -- or in numerous other chronicles; -- of rivalrous, treacherous, even murderous brothers, and why? -- this has been explicated by Paul Shepard in "Ten Thousand Years of Crisis" -- a chapter to be found in his Nature and Madness; also in his anthology from his own writings, The Only World We've Got.
