The way it could be after replacing many local politicians in Marin: Our sales/property taxes should be spent exclusively on public safety and infrastructure, with excess reserves returned to taxpayers. Public employees would be hired based only on qualifications and a Civil Service Exam. Who could object?
The ever more esoteric social workers, non-profiteers and political id carpetbaggers would only get funded after 2/3rds voter approval of special new taxes.
The way it is now: A growing proportion of ever increasing general fund taxes are spent on consultants, fringe minorities, DEI grifters, traveling derelicts and blatantly racist hiring policies. Bonds burden property owners and raise rents.
Please vote NO on every bond and tax increase.
With taxpayer subsidies of~$196 for each ride, no noticeable traffic improvements and massive housing developments around stations, deny the SMART train sales tax extension.
ZERO school bond approvals until they defund CRT, end school board parental surrogacy, and waste, like the $430,000, spent on renaming Drake High School. “TamUnion H.S. trustees have already contractually committed over $6 million to architects, spent hundreds of thousands for political consultants, polling, mailers to voters and a new project manager for the $517 Million bond [~$1.02 Billion with interest]. ”

Back in June, 2006 Tam District voters authorized $79,920,000 in 30 year General Obligation Bonds [plus interest] to COMPLETE DISTRICT WIDE FACILITY MODERNIZATION PROGRAMS. Why another "desperately needed construction bond?"
$80 million bond for Tam schools will be on ballot I.J. 3/01/2006
And that was on top of Tam’s $121 million bond of 2001.

Voters passed Measure A to fund park maintenance. Result? “Marin County accepting applications for a new $800,000-per-year environmental grant program by a rejiggering of Measure A tax revenues. [Lame duck] supervisor Katie Rice said, “This was always viewed as an equity program.”

Equity? = Your family likely excluded from any public jobs: “Berkeley-based [non profit] MIG formulated the equity plan...included changes to county hiring practices to increase the hiring of non-White employees…”

Marin County supervisors approve $784M budget 6/23/23
“just within the Civic Center, D.P.W. estimates around $100 million in deferred maintenance...rest of county, estimated another $100 million…Supervisor Dennis Rodoni, [who voted to fund the Equity Commission, and other expensive politically correct giveaways], said he thinks the county should begin planning for a bond measure to raise the money needed to address the county’s infrastructure.”
Why volunteer any extra tax money to Marin County to blow on social work, transnational outsiders and services for drifting human shipwrecks, worse, to fund your family’s disenfranchisement?
When one applies for a building permit, pays fees and winds red tape around their neck, they raise their taxable assessed value. Unless, you call it “Seismic retrofitting” or “disabled access.” No property tax reassessment for those. 😉 Here’s 70 pages of the politicians’ race equity plans for your future, paid for by your taxes. Happy Halloween!
